Some possibilities Here.

1. SJ comes home from Buddies, goes briefly on net, receives phone call just as she's
walking out the door and reluctantly agrees to meet someone.

2. SJ makes appointment while at Buddies Pizza Party.

Sees Peter Stein, has very brief social conversation, (AH HA!! new thought here. SJ
purposely tells Peter she?s tired and wants to get some sleep because she does have a
planned meeting that she A. does not want him to know about and B. needs to say
something to him in order to end the conversation, meet her appointment and not make
him suspicious all at the same time.

which would lead to a number 3.

3. SJ already had an appointment pre arranged before she ever went to the Pizza Party. Which also means it's very possible that SJ made a quick phone call to whoever before she left her apartment saying she was on her way.

SJ drops off keys, walks through Phelps Gate and meets appointment. They drive off in
car together.

Events unfold from that point.
