Hi Mark,

I'm a bit saddened to hear that you are contemplating switching over to IE. As you know, I've run Netscape since it first came out, and have been a big fan of it ever since.

I can say with a fair amount of certainty, that the platform you are running it on, or the association of Netscape and other apps in your environment is to blame for the excessive 'crashing' of Netscape in your machine.

I've been using ver 4.7, and 4.72 on either Windows NT 4.0, or Windows 2000 for the last six months or so with almost no problems. Even one of my Windows 98 boxes uses Netscape without problems. (You might want to consider upgrading to Windows 2000 Professional... I'm a big fan)

The only times I do run into problems is either from poor Javascript on some sites, or TCP/IP stack problems with my IC.

Anyway, I must admit that Internet Explorer 5.01 has some very cool features that practically forcing me to use it on a more regular basis. Although I'll always prefer the Netscape interface over IE, the features being incorporated in IE now are superior IMO.

As far as Outlook is concerned, if basis e-mailing is all you'll be doing, stick with Outlook Express (it's also handy as a Usenet News reader). For extra networking, task, and calendar features, go with Outlook 2000.

Good luck with whatever you choose,

Rich
