There's only one real problem with this scenario: why did Suzanne run aimlessly instead of knocking on the door of a nearby well-lighted house for help? Presumably the killer wouldn't have been crazy enough to follow her right up to the doorstep.

I suppose that in her panic she may not have been thinking straight, but still it seem odd, especially if she initially had a lead on the killer.

If an hysterical person were pounding on my door at 9:45 PM I doubt my first reaction would be to open the door and see if I could help. It is possible that the killer would not have followed her to a front porch..maybe she did not make the best decision at the time...but she did not have the time to consider the alternatives. I believe the two instincts would have been to fight or flee. I believe the best and most likely choice was to flee.

If the killer is in hot pursuit..50 to 100 feet behind her then I think she would more likely have been trying to outrun him and also scream in hopes of drawing attention.
