Take 400,000 notebooks, it has to cost Dell something to
answer each call and handle the bad module replace it and resend it out, so Micron pays for the module, thats $50 lets say, and Dell's cost for the call is $50.
Dell's cost = 400kx$50=$20M
Micron's cost = 400kx$50=$20M
This is really not very much. Even though this is just a guess, it does not seem to be much of an impact to either company. At least they are taking care of the customer.
