Harry,

Fret not, your shares will split after market on the 10Mar, as it states in the press release:
"Concurrently, the Board of Directors has established March 2, 2000, as the record date for the previously announced two-for-one split of its common shares, and the concurrent two-for-one split of the Exchangeable Shares of JDS Uniphase Canada, Ltd. The payment date for the stock dividend and the stock split will be March 10, 2000."

JDS Canada are your JDU shares.

I know the wording is screwey. This happens every time an issue I watch splits, because new investors just don't understand the "record date" concept as it pertains to dividends. A split is a non-cash dividend, so really record date means nothing. On the next market day after the payable date of the stock split (as they usually happen after market close,) you will find the shares in your account.

As for !!intelligent!! markets, I won't even go there. ;->
