Thu 9 Mar 2000 News Release
Mr. Michael Daniels reports
Consolidated Ecoprogress Technology has agreed to enter into a
collaboration agreement with Isolyser Company Inc. (Nasdaq: OREX). The
purpose of this agreement is to complete a joint development agreement
which will result in the manufacturing and marketing of a biodegradable
diaper. In addition, the company plans to work with Isolyser in the
development of a disposal system which will allow the diapers to be
flushable. The company is also in discussions with an additional partner on
this project for the purpose of research and development as well as
technical assistance. An announcement with respect to the third partner is
expected to be made by early April.
Isolyser is a U.S.-based public company trading on the Nasdaq exchange. The
new management of Isolyser is focused and thoroughly convinced that
environmentally sensitive, sound and competitively priced products are
positively in demand around the world due to the lack of space available in
landfills. Alternative one time use and safe water soluble products have
been a focus for Isolyser's product development group for numerous years.
Migo Nalbantyan, president and chief executive officer of Isolyser,
commented: "Consolidated Ecoprogress shares our conviction that PVA-based
materials offer unique benefits and are not burdensome on the environment.
We look forward to future opportunities for product and technology
expansions with Consolidated Ecoprogress."
Isolyser has just recently announced its first profitable year and its
third consecutive profitable quarter.
The company looks forward to working with Isolyser and the completion of
the biodegradable diaper. The objective for both companies is to have a
diaper in the marketplace by year-end.
Consolidated Ecoprogress recently extended its licensed territory for the
use of B-9 Film, a water soluble replacement for polyethylene (plastic),
from Canada to worldwide. The company currently sells Simplicities, Trutona
and Harmonies brands of the world's first and only flushable and
biodegradable feminine hygiene napkins and liners. Both products have been
granted the Ecologo by Environment Canada for their flushability and
biodegradable properties. The company recently acquired the worldwide
rights to B-9 Film for all uses except encapsulation.
