Fix, I don't doubt that this is going on with some of the brokers, heck I've even thought about doing it myself (he,he). But the problem is that more than half of the discount brokers I have talked to didn't seem to understand market dynamics or how secuities are transacted very well (probally even a scarier dirty little secret). Not sure what they learn in this 10 week course they take, but I think a better solution might be to hire all those people who spent the 70's and early 80's keypunching computer cards and stick them in front of a screen so they can just type in our orders (I guess the only way the system can go is up (I hope).
