Vinik certainly did both -- pumping & selling MU, and making a bad bet on bonds. But which one forced him to leave FIDO? I think it was the bad bet. Which, BTW, was a terrible example of a fund manager not doing what his investors paid him to do -- invest in stocks. So the real question is: Who the hell is investing with him now, and why?
