panic_mob,

<If AMD is the choice of the processor, what's your take on short and long term impact on AMD? >

Well, looks like a lot has come to the public eye between the time you made this post, nonetheless, here is my take:

Short-term the X-box business itself has no impact on the fundamentals. However, my understanding is that there is some massive dealmaking in progress that has wide ranging repurcussions far beyond x-box. I have heard some stuff and I can speculate some but it doesn't do much good until the deal is inked.

Now, regardless of the X-box short-term business implications the hysteria in the market about momentum plays will move the stock in ways that are beyond my comprehension (RMBS comes to mind).

<Do you think X-Box will be as successful as Playstation II?>

Hard to tell. Knowing Microsoft, I will pick them as the strong second to Sony - I wouldn't be surprised if the real losers in this game end-up being Nintendo and Sega.
