Don't be surprised if Opti's cash increases in Q2 even if they report a small loss. In Q1, cash increased despite a small loss. One reason was that accounts receivable declined from 18.0 million to 15.6 million while accounts payable increased from 9.7 to 10.2 million. On balance, this converts receivables to cash. The current ratio (current assets to current liabilities) is an extremely strong 6.3:1. For a company like this, anything above 2:1 is very strong. As for financial strength, Value Line is probably deducting points for the recent unprofitable operations. On a pure balance sheet basis, it doesn't get any stronger than this. Management may use its cash for acquisitions or buybacks but I don't expect to see dissipation. Companies who keep their balance sheets as clean as a whistle are not in the business of dissipating cash.
