Good one:

<Not sure what they learn in this 10 week course they take, >

I've seen the required reading for this license (a 4 volume set of manuals which you can get through a courier). Quickly browsed them... honestly speaking, nothing too practical in there. Most of us online traders on SI would pass the test in no time.

Why haven't we all rushed to pass the test than ?? Well, in theory, we should be making more money trading than sitting in front of a computer inputting orders all day (I say in theory cause lately, most of the time we don't make money cause we can't even input any orders that will be 'O'pen in time) and some of us have day jobs/school.

<but I think a better solution might be to hire all those people who spent the 70's and early 80's keypunching computer cards and stick them in front of a screen so they can just type in our orders (I guess the only way the system can go is up (I hope).>

This wonderful idea would certainly solve many of our problems (including unemployment). BUT, the government refuses to put a person without the appropriate 'licenses' behind a computer with a finger on a mouse which presses the 'Accept' Button so that orders can be routed to the trading floor (or the MMs).

BTW -- wonderful thread. If we get enough of us in here, we can actually make a difference. We'll lobby the government to get cracking on these brokers that can't accommodate their present clients BUT keep on accepting more and more and more every day !!!

<turning off the lights for this evening>
