Saw this on the Corel thread:

"Corel and Intel discuss alliance
In talks with computer maker to launch cheap line of
PCs that would challenge Microsoft's dominance

Ottawa -- Corel Corp. is in talks with Intel Corp. and at least one major computer maker to launch a line of cheap personal computers that takes direct aim at Microsoft Corp.'s near-monopoly in desktop PC operating systems."

Not familiar with the source. I think there is a lot of alliance talks going on now that the Wintel world faces some new choices (Linux / Athlon).

I wonder if MS will even designate a chip supplier tomorrow. Why not let them duke it out even longer to gain the most concessions MS can?
