Thom...There is a difference between the two. Omega crippled version 3.0 in more ways than one. Here is all the help file says on bar spacing:

"Bar spacing

Bar spacing refers to the horizontal distance between each bar and is stored in units called pixels. A pixel is each dot on your monitor. The recommended setting for bar spacing is three (3). By keeping the bar spacing to this value, you will be able to fit more bars into one screen so that slower market trends can be easily seen."
