ANDOVER, Mass., March 9 (Reuters) - Internet venture firm
CMGI Inc. (NASDAQ:CMGI) said on Thursday it expects an initial
public offering of its AltaVista search engine to take place in
early April due to "some administrative delays" with the
Securities and Exchange Commission.
The offering of AltaVista had been expected this month.
CMGI has said in SEC filings that it plans to offer 14.8
million shares in the range of $18 to $20 apiece.
The stock will be listed on the Nasdaq exchange under the
symbol "ALTA."
CMGI Chairman and Chief Executive David Wetherell also said
on the firm's second quarter earnings conference call that
CMGI's revenue will increase at a rate of 20 percent on a
quarter-over-quarter basis through 2000.
CMGI posted revenue of $153.4 million for its second
quarter ended Jan. 31.
