just my take...

Maybe it's just that i view what is going on in this world differently than most people. I've been an Intel investor for a very long time. As i see things, there is an unstoppable revolution going on and Intel is leading the way. As a long time investor, i have been watching this slowly happening for some time now, but only recently have i seen it pick up so much momentum. Saying that Intel will be the single most profitable company in the world within 5 years time is not at all unreasonable to me. Judging from Intel's P/E ratio, i must be in the minorioty on my views. All Intels P/E ratio is telling smart investors is to take advantage of the opportunity while it is still around. When i try to compare it to a franchise such as Coca-Cola, i am baffled by how the street values these things. The future won't be run on sugar water!!! Developing countries want semicondustors just as much, if not more, than sugar water. New technologies is what makes countries and companies able to compete on a level field nowadays. When the auto industry started, there were hundreds of car makers in the United States. Now we have the big three. Most of the technology companies that are around today will be absorbed by larger companies, or they will become obsolete and go bankrupt. That's not to say 50 years from now we will only have 3 large technology companies. This industry can support many more than that due to its nature. But the number will be drastically reduced and i'm willing to bet that of the companies alive today, that Intel is in probably in the best position to remain strong for many years to come. Intel has shown its incredible ability to adapt to its surroundings better than any company i can think of. If they continue to be a nimble giant, which i expect they will, then investors will be rewarded nicely as they have been in the past. Who knows, but i have my money riding on Intel.
