Infosys to set up 3 more centers

Infosys Technologies Limited today announced its intention to set up Software Development Centres at Mohali (Punjab), Hyderabad and Mysore. These will complement its existing development centers located across the country.

A company statement quoted Mr. N. R. Narayana Murthy, Chairman and CEO of Infosys as saying that the company had set up development centers across the country to tap local talent. "We now have eleven development centers, employing over 5000 people. The three cities we have identified have an excellent pool of trained personnel as well as good infrastructure. We look forward to beginning our operations in these cities," he said..

"Infosys is expanding, and we will invest in infrastructure to keep pace with this rapid growth. We had started the process of operationalizing these locations several months ago. We are now satisfied that we can commence software operations at these locations. The Mohali development centre will be our first in the north of India, and the Mysore and Hyderabad Centres will give us a presence in two emerging software hotspots," commented Mr. Nandan M. Nilekani, President, Managing Director and COO, Infosys.
