Anyone wanting to buy silver might currently find some excellent deals in junk 90% US silver. Apparently there is a glut of the stuff at the moment and one can buy bags ($US1000) from dealers at about melt value ($3700) The folks in the coin collecting usenet group (rec.collecting.coins) have pointed out the some lots of junk silver on ebay have been selling below melt.
