Some folks like to invest in physical bullion for their own personal reasons. I was just pointing out that at the moment the premium is about zero, for those so inclined to buy silver bullion.

Last year during the Y2K hype there was a shortage of junk silver bags and they went to almost a 100% premium. Dealers were getting about $6000 for bags.

BTW, most coin buyers bought the wrong thing last year. The US Mint sold mini-bags ($US25 face) of the new quarters for $29.95 delivered. The Delaware mini-bags are now going for over $US900 on ebay, up 30 fold !
