Let me tell you a little about the Hasidim: one of the things that distinguishes them is the Kabbalistic rationale they give for performing all of the Commandments, ritual and otherwise. One tradition holds that God's Divine Presence is so overflowing that He put some of his attributes in jars, but the jars shattered, and pieces of the Divine Presence fell into material things. When one says a blessing, practices the rules of purity (kosher), or performs a good deed, one liberates that spark of the Divine from its imprisonment, to return to Heaven. The more faithfully the Commandments are performed, the more we participate in restoring the Divine Presence to its full glory, and when restoration is complete, then the Messiah will come......
I truly believe, at least, there there is, in the spiritual world, a sort of ecology, and that we increase or decrease the power of goodness according to our individual actions..... |
