Agree here Janice on the Buddy probably being very open.

A post or so back you mentioned that you thought SJ would have said if she were in a hurry.

Not necessarily. I get the feeling that her social manners were quite high so saying that she was in a "hurry" might be bad manners. Remember, she told PS that she was tired, not that she was in a hurry to meet someone or even than she had an appointment. Far more socially acceptable way to end off a conversation and not make the person feel the least bit slighted.
