In a way, I was "cavorting." It is dangerous -- often folly -- to extrapolate 47% sequential growth very far because achieving that rate requires qualitatively different execution at each point. That's not to say that it isn't possible in nascent markets, but there are simply too many variables, not the least of which is a new technology or standard emerges that undermines prospects.

OTOH, the sequential q to q growth model is exactly the rationale for internet company valuations. The key is sustainability, and that's just too hard to predict. I'd much rather take my chances with 3Com, where the possiblities we're discussing aren't even on the valuation radar screen -- this may change in six months when the PALM distribution occurs, and the emerging markets may comprise 12% of revenues.
