You completely missed the point of that section of my post, which was an example of how a vendor can use IDC data to present a position which IDC did not endorse... I did not confuse W2K workstations with UE10000, and I was referring to the introduction of NT workstations in 1996, not some recent event. The point of the post was to explain the role of IDC, not to defend or bash UE10000 or IBMs S80 product (but now that you mention it, I should point out that sales rate of the S80 is at 25% of IBM's initial volume estimates when the product was announced, but I don't see that highlighted in the press).
