the event that typically sparks panics is something that was obviosu all along but ignored... then suddenly it isn't. and as prices fall, bulls have reason to think that the selling is "overdone" and ridiculous as it wasn't even on fundamental news or anything new or surprising. bears usally blow it off too btw, historically... at some pt, the herd realizes that the sky is blue afterall, just as it has always been. its just that somebody finally beats them over the head w/ it and they connect the dots and say.. "OH, i get it!" -g-
