Doesn't matter. Sun still needs to answer. The "not available for comment" line is like taking the 5th: despite the judge's instructions, the jury reads it as an implied admission of guilt."

The silicon technology in the IBM RS/6000 S80 systems was ALLREADY 16 months old (now 22 months) when introduced in Sept 99. MUCH faster systems using current technology are on the near horizon. Maybe SUN will now put a little more emphasis on upgrading their systems to UltraSparc III. I would guess the "no competition on the horizon" excuse may not work any more.
