some ebay info here (eBay/paypal compliancy) but mostly OT:
looks like they have sliced user acquisition in half to $10 from $20.

The referral program has changed to $5 a head....
However it is awesome that it is *unlimited*!

Here is the mailing I just got

PAYPAL'S NEW, UNLIMITED $5 BONUS PROGRAM

Response to PayPal has been overwhelming! Thanks to our loyal
users, we are now the #1 person-to-person payment service on
the Internet with half a million users and another 15,000
signing up every day.

As you may have already seen on our Web site, as of March 15
we will reduce our Refer-A-Friend Bonus and New Account Bonus
to $5 each. By popular request, we had already extended the
program far beyond our planned 50,000 users and the $5 program
will extend it even further! We will continue paying $10
bonuses until the end of March 15.

As a reward for our most active referees, we are removing the
$1,000 limit on referrals. After March 15, you will be able to
receive unlimited $5 bonuses for each friend you refer. Go to
paypal.com to
read more about our bonus programs.

PAYPAL IS MERGING WITH X.COM

Last week we announced that PayPal is joining forces with X.com
- an FDIC insured online bank and personal payment service - to
create the world's largest secure network for instant online
payments. While our company will continue to provide you with
the same great service you've grown used to from PayPal, you'll
have the option of many new features to look forward to in the
months ahead, such as earning interest on your PayPal account
and being able to withdraw your PayPal account money from an
ATM. For more information on our merger, check out our
announcement page online:

PAYPAL WILL REMAIN FREE

PayPal is committed to remaining 100% free for all consumers,
and the merger with X.com doesn't change this at all. A lot of
folks ask us how we can afford to offer PayPal at no charge.
Well, it's simple: we earn interest from the money left in
PayPal accounts, and this interest covers our expenses. This
means we can offer PayPal completely free to you! For more
information on this and other topics of frequent concern, please
visit our FAQ page at
paypal.com .

EBAY-COMPLIANT AUCTION BANNERS

We wanted to thank all of our auction users for their quick and
efficient response to the eBay Logo Policy change. On March
1st, eBay announced that they were restricing logos on auction
listings to small banners or text-only messages. PayPal created
two eBay compliant logos: an 88x33 banner and a short text-only
message. To abide by eBay's new policy, many of you have already
added these new logos to your auctions. Thanks again for your
quick response.

To insert eBay compliant logos, log in to your PayPal account,
go to the Referral Center Tab, click on the Auction Referrals
sub tab, and choose Autolink. From here, you can enter your
eBay username and password, and select any logo that states it is
"Compliant with all auctions including eBay."
