Tero, I guess the posting of my move on Qualcomm brought you to our thread. I have gone back and read the exchanges you had on the Qualcomm thread last year with Gregg Powers, and I have you bookmarked, and read you from time to time to see what the latest Nokia line is. I have two problems with your posts here.
1) You are still posting laundry lists of Nokia's success in marketing GSM. You do not address the overwhelming advantage that Qualcomm has ,long term, to replace all of the GSM market. Phones last about 2 years, and infrastructure about 5. You twist and turn, but you are too smart not to know the Physics involved, and the fact that CDMA is going to be the eventual winner. The advantages to the carriers to switch are just too good to stay with any other system in 3G.
2) It appears to me, from following you for the last year, that you are getting paid by GSM sources, to push GSM. If you are not, please post that fact specifically, and I will take your word for it.
I agree with Mike Buckley's post that, although interesting, your posts do not belong here unless you want to specifically address the "Gorilla" nature, as we define it, of Qualcomm vs. its opponents. The short term marketing wins of Nokia are really of no interest to us, and they mean nothing in the end game to come in wireless commmunication. |
