chalu2,
good to see you. Figured you left when McCain did.
As far as the teaching of creationism, I may feel a little different than most. I agree with you that in a country such as ours there could be a multitude of "theories" introduced. So I am not pressing for schools to teach "Sunday school " subjects so to speak. Nor do I press for a public prayer in school. (Although I would like to see a few minutes each day to have the students quietly reflect.)But I see no harm in hiring good moral teachers to teach math, do you? I do not like to see homosexuals or other deviants (wife beaters, child molesters, rapists, abortionists) teaching my children anything...anything.
There is the problem of what they ARE being taught though. Such as hiding anything you can from your parents, moral relativism,(sp)the thinking that self esteem is #1 to the point of exclusion of decency and any performance of the student. Those sorts of things.
Oh that and the big bang deal.....
AS a Christian, I do believe that our children SHOULD be taught JESUS by their FAMILY and then the light and life they show and live will be proof enough to others.
Having said that, I do believe the family IS the key to stopping the moral decay you speak of, and I am also ALL FOR Christian private schools, if the government is not paying for it.
As far as president , governor, whatever, if he/she is born again believing Christian, or if any of the staff are.....then so much the better. Although it does not guarantee perfection as we have seen time after time.
