They DID like AMD. They had ties going back to Fairchild where Jerry also once worked. The problem was that AMD had obligations in exchange for getting those Intel designs. They were obligated to give something of value back in return. After a few years went by it was apparent that the exchange only went in one direction. From Intel to AMD and never did anything of value go back to Intel. Who among us would carry a deadbeat partner forever?
