Preparations are underway for the ICO
Sea Launch mission.
The Sea Launch Commander and the Odyssey Launch Platform arrived at the launch site at the equator - at 0 degrees North, 154 degrees West Longitude - on March 9, 4:00 a.m. The countdown is underway! Local weather is excellent and all systems are GO for the 6:49 a.m. (Pacific Time) launch on March 12.
For this second commercial lift-off, Sea Launch will lift the ICO F-1 satellite into medium earth orbit at 6,452 miles. Sea Launch, an international joint venture, was formed in response to increased market demand for a more affordable and reliable commercial satellite launch service.
