No ones intrested in this company anymore? Anyone still follow this company? I boxed in half my long term shares hoping to get back in lower. Still a long way to go to break even.

Who's Watching your Network? by: NETA_TITANIC (142/M/10000 Feet under the Atl) 3/12/00 12:39 am Msg: 43300 of 43301 It isn't NETA... Looking at all of the emerging trends within Network security and network fault tolerance. Where is NETA on these leading edges? Sniffer, is basically a single segment LAN suite. Sure they have Router PM, and Swith PM, and the Network Informent. But how does it link the various layers of a network, from 100's of segments spread across LAN's and WAN's. How does it provide real time analysis in a common management database? It doesn't. That's why your seeing the hardware vendors like Cisco, Nortel, Bay and others addressing the solution at the hardware level of their own equipment.
Why hasn't NETA provided the Department of Defense, the real time Anti-Virus demographics of a spreading Virus like they requested in 1998? Hell the DOD contract alone would have been worth tens of millions. It's the same sorry all other. One hand doesn't know what the other is doing. Or coding. Products don't work together, arn't properly tested and certifed prior to release. Look for client reference site for the area I'm talking about. They don't exist. Ask for a White Paper speaking to the detail of best practices for deployment integration and installation. Again, they don't exist. At least when the Titanic went down 4/12/1912, we learned from our errors and made sure that kind of mistake never occured again.. What have we learned in the two years nearly since NETA fell from $67 to 10, in less than 90 Days? Again, Who's watching your network.. Your company

What About NETA Looks Good? by: NETA_TITANIC (142/M/10000 Feet under the Atl) 3/12/00 12:27 am Msg: 43299 of 43301 Why would anyone put money into this sink hole? Because the ajusted employee options are about to vest? Remember, back in April of last year when NETA was trading at $10-15 range. Larson repriced all of the employee's options to $11 strike. If they stayed another year to vest. How many of the employee's are getting ready to jump after they vest? Quite a few from what I hear. More rats, leaving a sinking ship.. And why shouldn't they? $11 to 30. That's 19 bucks a share. x the average grant of 1500-4000 shares. It's $19k to 78k. Nothing like the ride from $38-$279 in one year for Checkpoint. That's $381K on 1500 shares. Or the $28-$83 at arch enemy Symantec. Again that's $82k on only 1500 shares. Where's the Beef? Or profit..

Had to buy some NETA: Why? by: NETA_TITANIC (142/M/10000 Feet under the Atl) 3/12/00 12:16 am Msg: 43298 of 43301 139.3 Mil Out standing Shares. NETA has NEVER made a profit, when costs related to mergers are factored in to earnings. EPS -1.15. Declining Market Share of the Core AntiVirus business. Completely lost the firewall market to Checkpoint. Which now has a market cap of 20.91 Bil, compared with NETA's 4Billion. Bill Larson tried to buy Checkpoint some time ago. They told him to piss off. He promised that he would bury checkpoint.. Little Ego man. In the last year, Checkpoint is up 1600%. The average for the security sector is up 200%. How about NETA?

u4343: Magic Service Desk by: F_9939464 3/12/00 12:03 am Msg: 43297 of 43301 Who!!! The first version of "Merlin" or of the First Code written that wasn't the old Vicor Help Desk database, wasn't even recomended to past MHD clients.. Account for that? What about Total Service Desk (TSD), What are you giving the clients that bought into Remote Desktop control RD 2.12 is Two Years old, and doesn't support AGP video cards. That's useful.."NOT".. What about the curse of ZAC 6.3 Whatever? Sold any ZAC lately, Ask your leader Kamal? How about the release of true Oracle solution for TSD or Magic? How about integration between the Helpdesk, Sniffer and Manage Databases, like the sales guys have been selling for the last two years. It doesn't exist. Waiting for news out of NETA, is like waiting to be lied too. Almost every press release they come out with is made of half truths, or outright lies

NETA: The development team? by: F_9939464 3/11/00 10:28 pm Msg: 43291 of 43301 Who is left with the CyberCop development team for Network General? How many? Three, last time I heard. How many of the LAN Guru, the CNX teams that taught Cisco's people? Four out of eighty last time I checked. How about the TIS, people for Firewall? How many left? Remember that the code for these products is as much a product of the developers as the company. Losing 80% of your developers is a huge loss for any company. Even one like NETA that really doesn't write software. PGP, encyption. How many of Phil Zimmerman's team is left? What about the leader in Quantum Encyption that NETA fired in 98? He's developing the next level of encyption standards for someone else. OK, how about the Dr. Solly merger and Magic Systems, or any of the other companies they bought and destoryed. This company will never go anywhere, because they are a marketing machine and not a software company. The bonus their development heads to release shit code every quarter, rather than code something of value.
What does NETA want to be? A software company? Or group of Sales Monkies trying sell used cars for software. Prove me wrong.. Tell me what has changed to change this situation? |
