OJ: So you like to bet football games? I hope you enjoy it because according to my friend and retired bookmaker Barney Bufflekarp, you're not gonna beat the boys in Vegas who set the lines. He says that they're lines are "solid." Sure, you can beat a game, maybe a few...but over the course of the season you'll have to win 55+%, just to break even. The guys who used to kill him were the ones who bet baseball...'cause there's no "line" on baseball, just odds. After a while he refused to accept baseball bets. When a Pedro Martinez (or others) is pitching and the odds are perhaps 3 or 4 to 1...you still have a fine chance to win, even though you might be putting up $300/400 to win 100. (Lee)
