Steven, maybe you're right. but coming to that conclusion without knowing the context under which it was spoken is not really fair. The other issue is it was spoken. Are you completely certain the person from the Times heard it correctly? Have you seen the film? Have you viewed the recording yourself?

Seems to me you're jumping to a lot of conclusions.

That clip certainly gave me no proof one way or another to come to a conclusion like that. Reminds me of the 4.1 second sound bites we constantly see in the mainstream press. People come away from them believing they learned the truth also.

I am surprised to see you and E get caught up with the sound-bite crowd. Perhaps your desire to get Al Gore elected has allowed you to lose your sense of objectivity. Because in the end, one of them will be the next President. And it's pretty clear, (regardless of whether you or E want to admit it), from your predominantly one sided criticism. That you prefer the next President to be Al Gore.

Reminds me a lot of the mainstream press when they say they are unbiased and yet present information in a very biased way on a daily basis. I prefer to be straitforward about where I stand with regard to the candidates. And I would MUCH prefer George W Bush be the next President (given his faults) than the lying corrupt left wing environmental zealot Al Gore.
