WaveSeeker, I expect that the public will ultimately become disillusioned, as they have on every occasion they have become heavily-involved in the market in the past.

Will there be trading opportunities on the way down? Of course.

Where the danger lies for traders, though, comes later. In a lackluster market that has little public interest, trading opportunities will NOT abound. Further, the trading environment will get tougher - you will no longer be up against "newbies".

Will there still be trading opportunities in such a market? Of course there will be, just not as many, not as easy to take advantage of, and with less profit potential.

Those with a sufficient capital base - one much larger than that required in the current market environment - will be able to survive in that market.

Those who adapt well will survive. Those who think they've got it figured out likely will not.
