Utility Stocks? no kidding, really. I do a brand of TA which involves software scans for certain criteria. There have been times that I come up with several stocks from a sector at the same time. This happens pretty often with the semis and oil services and has put me into GLM at the right time twice. It also brought me the gold rush last year and recent biotech (scared to pay a $1 gap at $23 in HYSQ ha!) run way early, but I was't convinced. I don't suggest these things as momentum daytrades however, they usually develop over time. Anyhow, I am seeing alot of action in utilities and came across this article cbs.marketwatch.com

Why am I posting this here? Well, I do not daytrade for a living, but I did so a few years ago and some of the biggest moneymakers I came across traded the sectors. Maybe somebody has this thread bookmarked and I can generate some interest, as I do not have the time or expertise to conduct extensive research myself, but would like to participate in quality discussion of sector trading.

So- the utilities I've come across started with CPN a few months ago, but MTP has shown up recently, along with LNT and UCM (about to merge with PE). This weekend I caught AVA, CEG, DQE and DTE all on the same scan. Some of the stories on these stocks sound sexy. Anybody?
