One likes to see clarity of thought and expression and some evidence of superior capacity in a leader, and they are not there in Bush. Or in Gore, for that matter. I criticize Bush more because an awful lot of people seem to be holding him up as some sort of saviour, which I don't think is at all realistic. I've already stated that I have no major preference: I could live with Gore as long as he has a solidly Republican legislature and I could live with Bush as long as he has a solidly Democratic legislature. If either party takes all the marbles, we have a big problem.
