Steven, I would like to see once in my lifetime a majority of Republicans in the Congress, while we have a Republican President. The Democrats had it on-and-off for the better part of 40 years. If Republicans had the majority for 4 years, and performed the same as I have seen the Democrats perform when in the majority. Then I would, without a doubt, agree with you. Until then, it's only assumption and speculation on your part how they would perform.

There are important concepts I would like to see the Congress and President address.

1. Make parental choice in government education a normal method of distribution. My preferred method is vouchers. We need to get the parents and teachers back in charge of education and not the bureaucrats in D.C.
2. Privatize the social security system. Let people control there own retirement funds and not the government.
3. Pass real tort reform. Loser pays if reasonable settlements aren't agree to. And keep the ambulance chasing lawyers from clogging the court room.
4. Get rid of so much waste! The waste in redundant programs is truly pathetic.
5. Pass term limits. Being a politician shouldn't be a career. You should be a citizen first and politician second. Instead of governing, we have people politicking all the time because they love the power and perks of office. Term limits lost by one vote in the Senate a few years ago, because of zero support from leading Democrats.

Electing Gore and then electing a Republican Congress is no way to solve the problems we face in America. And make no mistake, political leadership can help get the ball rolling in these vital areas.

Although my stocks have surged. Status quo won't do it for me. Every 4 years we delay real reform in education we lose another inner city generation of kids suffering through a pathetic school system. Oh sure, wealthy people like Al Gore and Bill Clinton (the biggest defenders of status quo) don't really care about helping the poor receive a quality education. Because their kids will never attend those schools (And thank God my kids won't either). But I care too much about other American children to be satisfied with doing nothing in education! A divided government will ensure another 4 years of no change in this area. And that's not what we need.

In regard to.... res-an awful lot of people seem to be holding him up as some sort of saviour, which I don't think is at all realistic

Sorry, I completey disagree with you there. I haven't seen that at all on this thread. What I have seen is people defending him against a lot of micky mouse charges of being dumb, racist and inferring that he will be a puppet for Pat Robertson if elected.

Michael
