Excuse me, do you ever source your allegations? I know that the Unification Church is somewhat bizarre; heck, I think the Mormon Church is somewhat bizarre, and I would speak at one of their events. There has been enough back and forth about the recruitment practices of the Unification Church to at least muddy the water. The main thing is that most people in town have come to view the Washington Times as about as respectably distinct from the Church as the Christian Science Monitor is from its sponsor, and therefore supporting a similar venture would not seem strange to Bush; and he would not necessarily think he was supporting the Church to speak at an ancillary organization billed as promoting family values. This is not the same as shilling for Moon. Speaking to Lubavitchers would not constitute an endorsement of Hasidism; having an audience with the Pope would not constitute an endorsement of Catholicism; how much less would speaking for L'Osservatore Romano opening a sister publication, or speaking to an Lubavitcher affiliate billed as promoting Jewish family life. The rest is not worth much argument.....
