To all:
I am a bull by heart, hence my handle, but I have been running with the bears for a while and have lost some money by following them.(by not investing a few bucks in YHOO, et al)
I don't believe that most people believe the impact the internet will have on the lives of the average person in the near future. In the last few weeks, I have personally spent a couple of thousand dollars over the internet. I perused the catalogs I recieved in the mail, determined the products I wished to purchase, surfed the net to find the best prices, and ordered the merchandise over the internet.
Now, if you get right down to the nitty gritty, we are still new in this internet deal. Even though I have been online for a couple of years, it took me a while before I was comfortable about shopping and ordering online. It is great. And it will get even better. Web sites will get better. Computers will get better. ISP's will get faster. IOW, we have not seen the future yet. Not by any stretch of the imagination.
Will any of the high flying tech stocks ever become fairly valued?
Who knows.
But I can state one thing I fully believe: I don't believe you can use past valuation methods to fairly estimate the future value of a lot of the up and coming companies.
I can also state something as fact: I can lose all of the value of my portfolio and I will not lose any money, since I have removed all of my initial investment capital from the market and am now playing on "house money".
Have fun, Phil |
