ELON competition & Janet.

Thanks for a great report. I was about to write a lengthly opinion on Elon's competition and was going to use the quote of
"What does this technology encompass"
as a basis. Your inclusion of this saved me a lot of work, and spared the thread from my rambling.

Once again I think it is important to define the terms of the question in evaluating who their competition is. I think it is critical to not be comparing apples and oranges. We must surely be looking for something that poses a substantial threat to what they are doing.

They may have competition for some of their products on an individual basis, or for a subset of their business, and may encounter resistance to what they are trying to achieve, but in terms of the technology offered, from what I understand they are the only company capable of currently providing, off the shelf, an end to end, peer to peer, open, interoperable platform that can be used worldwide across many markets for controlling everyday devices.

AT&T chose LonWorks technology for the implementation of their most critical business function -- the switching network offices.
Of this application, Michael J. Wheeler (Technical Manager, Office Infrastructure Development) said, "... no other viable option open to AT&T... would have provided the efficiency or performance we found in your technology. Moreover, the overall system reliability is everything Echelon promised, and more."

The above quotes come from a great, albeit slightly dated FAQ located at surfnetworks.com

Also, their iLon server began shipping this quarter. How that will impact revenue will be telling, since they state in their 10Q that ?the company recognizes revenue from product at the time of shipment to the customers.? 100%+year-over-year revenue growth is quite likely.

Very much in agreement here, the projected growth in EPS is staggering.
