Yes, I read the whole article on the "dangers" of SSRI's on the market in the Times last week. The theory about the dulling of fear caused by these types of antidepressants is, in my opinion, a crock of sh*t, a throwback to the early 1990's arguments, when Prozac was introduced, that widespread use of antidepressants would result in a homogenization of the nation's personality. Brain chemistry, and the psyche, are much more complicated than that. ARGH!!!
I say we go with the SEC investigation and bring in the FBI. Everyone who applies for an online account must present a complete medical history and agree to let the brokerage override any trades that they think are "irrationally exuberant". Yeah, that ought to do it. :) |
