Dallas Ceramics, recently acquired by CoorsTek, is expanding its manufacturing capability to provide CVD silicon carbide (SiC) components.

The only thing that I have seen (with my own eyes) SiC used for to date (assuming that my white LED flashlight uses sapphire <g>) is a protective coating for graphite susceptors used in semiconductor etch machines.

I wonder if they use SiC precursors from ROH?
