As you know I'm way out of my tiny area of expertise here, JW, but rather than blaming the Asian Meltdown on controls instituted by the Fed, I have been more prone to pin it on lack of controls on the part of several of the Asian countries. And while I realize interest rate changes have a big effect on the bond market (or is it the other way around?), I have been unable to recognize a correlation to valuations on productive companies like qcom, ntap, jdsu, csco, etc. I'm sure I am missing something, but I see a strong fed and a strong fed chairman as a positive influence on the economy and my personal wealth.
