Self-Study Program for CNE 5 Certification Targets Base of 175,000 Certified Novell Engineers and 370,000 Certified Novell Administrators
SCOTTS VALLEY, Calif., March 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Rainmaker Systems (Nasdaq: RMKR - news), a leading Customer Relationship Management (eCRM) company, today announced that it has extended its relationship with Novell, Inc. to include Rainmaker's eSales and eMarketing of Novell's self-study courses for NetWare 5 Certified Novell Engineer (CNE) certification. For professionals involved in the installation and administration of NetWare 5 server environments, CNE 5 certification is fundamental. With the new contract, Rainmaker continues to build on its previous success at Novell and expands its role beyond the sale of support and software upgrades. With Rainmaker driving sales for the self-study CNE 5 courses, Novell galvanizes loyalty within its platform and continues to grow its existing base of over 175,000 CNEs worldwide.
Under the terms of the agreement, Rainmaker has developed a Novell-branded Web site that utilizes advanced eCRM techniques to promote and sell several different packages via direct access from Novell Education. The full CNE 5 self-study kit is designed for engineers with little or no prior Novell background. For CNEs not already CNE 5 certified, an upgrade course to CNE 5 is available. All courses can be optionally bundled with three-months unlimited access to online mentoring and online labs. Novell's online mentoring allows students to ask questions directly to a Certified Novell Instructor (CNI) via private email and forums. The online lab offers hundreds of example problems and scenarios in a live NetWare 5 environment over the Web.
``Our self-study program is designed for IT professionals who are looking for a curriculum that is convenient, flexible and comprehensive,' said Aaron Osmond, e-Learning director for Novell Education. ``This is quite a significant opportunity because of our large, built-in customer base, including 370,000 Certified Novell Administrators (CNA). We are pleased to be working with Rainmaker to promote opportunities for IT professionals to expand their knowledge and gain important credentials that will improve their marketability and increase their compensation.'
Rainmaker specializes in delivering value from its clients' customer databases -- without cost to the client. By using a multi-faceted approach that includes contact by Web, email, etc., Rainmaker exploits all possible selling avenues -- based on their proven eSales and eMarketing techniques. Through careful test and measurement, Rainmaker identifies the most effective method(s) of closing the business and deploys an optimum mix of sales and marketing programs. In each new selling opportunity, the specific approach taken varies by product and prospective customer.
``By fine tuning the sales process, we are unlocking incremental revenue, increasing customer loyalty and extending the average lifetime value of the customer for Novell,' noted Janice Wissler, Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Rainmaker Systems. ``As we do more at Novell, we'll continue to demonstrate the value of maintaining deep customer relationships. In the long run we see mutual benefits for both our firms as we assist in expanding the Novell franchise.'
