E-groupie that I am, I don't want to see E*Trade bought out by Amex or anyone else. While we might see a premium paid for our stock, I believe that diluting our company by adding it in with another, bigger one is not in our long-term interests, even if it is in our short-term interests from a momentary stock-price perspective. I'm not dogmatic about it, but I don't get all warm and fuzzy contemplating a potential buy-out...
