I actually have you to thank for the Aug XTO 10's that you mentioned a while back. I normally don't like to go that far out since it takes too long for the time premium to erode but I think I will just be holding them to expiration just like my GLBL 10's this week. I like your idea of creating synthetic long positions as a way to play late-cycle laggards without tying up a lot of cash in a dead-money position. Might be a way to play FGH<vbg>. I'll look at TMAR. I like my May 10's for MDR since I expect a nice move before expiration. I would probably then sell and roll up to maybe Aug 12 1/2.
Do you know of a good site for Black-Scholes calculations? My broker (Waterhouse) had a nice options calculator and, inexplicably, replaced it with junk. The old one automatically calculated volatility and theoretical value, the new one doesn't. Thanks for any help.
