Subject: Message from Gerry Gagliardi MEMO TO: THE INACOM TEAM FROM: GERRY GAGLIARDI Our company has gone through some dramatic changes in the past few months. These changes were necessary for us to react to a number of internal and external factors that significantly deteriorated our financial health. Had we not reacted when we did, we would be facing a much more difficult situation today. Because of the changes we have made together, I am happy to tell you that -- while we still have a lot more work to do -- we are on target in our recovery. On target to execute a focused market strategy; on target to meet client expectations as a first-rate IT services firm; on target to meet market expectations for solid financial performance and growth; and most importantly, on target to be a successful company. This has not been easy for any of us -- radical change never is. We have accomplished in four months what should have taken multiple years. Our whole industry is changing as mergers, acquisitions, and consolidation alter the competitive landscape. However, in today's world, rapid change is the norm and the companies that can learn to adapt to their environment are those who will survive. Look at it from our clients' perspective; they too face constant change as they seek new ways to efficiently bring their products and services to customers and stay ahead of their competition. They seek partners that can guide them through their challenges. Service providers that are comfortable with change will win; the rest will be left behind. One of the side effects of this quickly changing environment has been the lack of effective communication with you along the way. The feedback I'm getting tells me you have many questions about how we got here, why we have made the decisions we have and what is our vision for the future of Inacom. If we are going to reach our goals, we all need to work together and that is only possible if all share a common vision for our future. To address these questions, and to initiate more effective two-way communications, we are launching a formal, internal communications campaign: "On Target." Through this campaign, we will share our vision, business strategies, and operational objectives. Next, we will provide multiple, predictable communications on our progress toward these goals so we are all confident that we are indeed on target. As a first step, I will conduct a series of round table discussions with a cross section of our employees around the country to discuss the current situation, address the actions that we have taken, talk about our go-forward strategy and answer your questions. Additionally, we have added a new "On Target" site on the front page of GRIN -- please take a moment to check it out and visit it frequently. On this site you'll find a schedule of the "On Target" communications activities. I look forward to meeting many of you over the next few weeks and getting back on target! Hey dudes Surf's Up~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
