And then you simply print more dollars to pay the interest, or better yet, claim publicly to "buy back" the debt for the first time in 30 years. Amazing how easy it is to buy back debt when you can just print dollars to pay it back with.

None of this should be surprising- the federal government is just following the example of high tech corporate america, where employees are paid with stock instead of cash, because companies can print stock certificates all day long without spending a dime. Nobody seems to care about shareholder dilution when microsoft prints currency, why do you think the average citizen will now care when greenspan does the same with the U.S. currency?

I am being serious. Do you really think anyone will care if the US continues to print dollars at this amazing rate? As long as we are the sole superpower and the major buying market for overseas economies, who cares?
