Niceguy,

re:"playing short term calls"

Well its called GAMBLING, LOL!!!

The best way I have found is to wait till the day before and buy some out of the money calls.

Only buy enough for what you can afford to lose without losing sleep.

If it goes up on friday - sell and take your profits.

If it goes down - hey you played and lost - but at least the leverage is great on a homerun.

Take the Mar 55's which are 3/4 today. Friday they were $2 and change.

By thursday they could be a 1/4 even if the stock gets to $52-53.

You buy 100 calls and risk $2,500 at the crap table.

The suckers who paid $2 last friday will need a $60 price to have any reasonable profits.

Frankly if you have a substantial position in AMD calls with its high call prices: I would be pretty worried.

regards,

Kash
