The AIflex (Fiber LAN Extender), enables telecom companies to use existing fiber connections from the Central Office to monitor and manage CEVs, huts and shelters, The AIflex uses Wave Division Multiplexer (WDM) technology to enable telecommunication providers to manage remote locations as nodes on a Central Office-based LAN. The AIflex system consists of the AIflex concentrator card, the AIflex remote card(s), and the AIflex WDM cards. The AIflex concentrator and AIflex remote card are Ethernet switches with optical ports that connect to the AIflex WDM cards. Operating over either the 1310 nm or 1550 nm wavelength, depending on theapplication, the AIflex is used to extend the local area network beyond the physical boundaries of the central office to remote offices.
