ASSUMING Sun releases UltraSparc III systems within the next 5 months, they will leapfrog over IBM's Risc 6000s in performance. But, it will be a short reprieve since they will leapfrogged again by year end. Then, how long before Sun upgrades the silicon technology again? Another three years??? But, the most troublesome thing is that both will get eaten alive from the low end up by the Wintel vendors. THE WATSONYOUTH
